 SEMINAR
PSYCHOLOGICAL FOUNDATION OF CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION”

There is a growing demand that educators should be able to ensure creative teacher/student co-operation during the education process. With this idea in mind, the Latvian Association of Language Teachers (LALT) is organising a seminar to introduce teachers to psychological findings related to child and teenage development significantly affecting the quality of the educational process. The programme contents, which is designed for 12 academic hours, has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, and upon completion of the course the learners will be issued a certificate approved by the Ministry.

The seminar will be chaired by academics from the Institute of Education and Psychology, University of Latvia:
Ausma Đpona, Professor, Dr.habil.paed.,
Dzidra Meikđâne, Prof. emeritus, Dr.habil.paed, and
Inâra Krűmiňa, assistant professor, Dr.Psych.

The programme under discussion includes psychologists’ views about development peculiarities of learners, which are important to consider if we want to place the student in the focus of the educational process and permit the educators to observe the established rules of the cognitive process, to stimulate the learners’ creativity in the process of training, and also to apply a holistic approach to the learners.

This in-service training program (A2) is basically meant for language teachers.

SEMINAR
TEACHER – STUDENT INTERACTION IN THE EDUCATION PROCESS”

There is a growing demand that educators should be able to ensure creative teacher/student interaction during the education process. With this idea in mind, the Latvian Association of Language Teachers (LALT) is organising a seminar to find answers to the following questions:

  • What is the essence of the learning process;
  • How to organize the teacher–student and student–student interaction to stimulate creative learning skills;
  • How to develop learning skills  and students’ creative abilities;
  • What attitudes are formed  in the education process and how to enhance students’ activity and motivation.  

The programme contents, which is designed for 12 academic hours, has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, and upon completion of the course the learners will be issued a certificate approved by the Ministry.
