International Conference of The FIPLV Nordic-Baltic Region (NBR) “Innovations in Language Teaching and Learning in
the Multicultural Context”

Riga, Latvia, 15 – 16th June, 2007

The Latvian Association of Language Teachers (LALT) was hosting the international conference of the Nordic-Baltic region (NBR) of the World Federation of Language Teacher Associations (FIPLV) in the capital of Latvia, Riga, 15 -16th June, 2007.

The conference was devoted to the recent trends in language teaching and learning, focusing on:

  • Experience of using the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR);
  • European Language Portfolio at School and University;
  • Intercultural Education and Multilingualism: Practical Aspects;
  • Creativity in Language Teaching and Learning.

220 participants from 21 country participated in the conference and delivered 86 reports in English, Latvian, Russian, French, German.

The papers were internationally reviewed and published in the conference proceedings and a special edition CD.
